Top down music production is a process of starting with your mix bus (master chain) before you start crafting individuals tracks & sounds. It allows you to create songs at performable & releasable volumes without having to deal with sending your mix off to a mastering engineer.
Even if you still prefer to send mixes to an engineer, it’s a great process to understand & utilize. I’ve been using this process for the last few years & believe it’s essential for producers of any genre to understand.
